Tidewave R&D is a health technology company that develops and commercializes aids for users with disabilities. Tidewave R&D was established in 2017, and in 2020, the company launched its first product, the Tidewave reversible mattress.
The mattress looks like a regular foam mattress, but when screwed on it will slowly bend and turn the user of the mattress up to 30 degrees to each side. The movements are so slow and quiet that the person lying in the mattress can sleep continuously while getting the necessary turn.
The technology means that one can both prevent and treat pressure injuries, and relieves health personnel and relatives from heavy lifting.
An increasing wave of elderly people and the associated shortage of health personnel means that routine tasks such as this must be automated in order to provide good treatment for patients while at the same time taking care of health workers.
